The Drood Report

Nick Fry is a jerk.

Phoning it in

Watched practice. Dull, except for Lewis’ spectacular accident. Despite not being too keen on him I was very glad to see him get out and walk away. From the onboard, I actually cringed as he hit the wall. Nasty. All-nighter for the mechanics I guess.

Not much else going on. The German and Dutch motorsport federations have called for Mosley to resign, and Mosley has launched a lawsuit against the newspaper that ran the story. Curiously Max has NOT ONCE denied any of the claims that have been made against him, which I hadn’t noticed until someone else pointed it out.

Mosley is claiming he has received statements of support, though I notice not ONE PERSON has come forward and remotely defended him. The closest I’ve heard is “It’s his private life, but…” Very curious who these mystery supporters are. Most likely all in Mosley’s wishful thinking. Sure, it’s his private life, but if you’re a public figure in a position of power you are open to blackmail and corruption if have skeletons in your closet. The mere possibility of any corruption past or present makes his continuation as president untenable.

In short, if you get caught with your pants across the other side of the room while being bedded by Ilsa She-Wolf of the SS, you have to go. If this was any other organisation, he’d have resigned already.

Given Mosley being big news, saw this story on Sportsfilter and figured I’d post a link here for folk as it’s a good read and gives some more history on his position, Bernie’s fleecing of the sport etc…

I’ll be back sometime before the race. Probably. Got a lot of home networking nonsense to do this weekend, but I’ll be back at some point. Hopefully reporting a Heidfeld pole! Though based on Friday practice the phrase “not bloody likely” springs to mind.
